How Bubblance works

A budget you can see. Three steps, then it runs itself.

  1. Put money into your WalletYour salary, a freelance payment, cash from a friend: it all goes into the Wallet bubble first. That is the money you have to work with.
  2. Make a bubble for each thing you spend onRent, groceries, going out, the car, a holiday fund. Give each one a colour and an icon. You can have up to 20.
  3. Pay your bubbles from Wallet as you goBought groceries? Tap the groceries bubble and log it. The bubble grows, Wallet shrinks, and the numbers at the top tell you what is left for the days ahead.

What the board shows you

The size of a bubble is the money in it, so the biggest bubbles are where your money went. Income bubbles carry a second ring inside their edge. A bubble that goes over its limit cracks. Tap any bubble to see its history, every payment with a date, a note and who added it.

Savings and goals

Savings live in their own place, one tap away from the board. Set a goal with a target, move money into it, and a ring around the savings button closes as you get near. When you reach it, the goal stays with you as a small win.

Month end

When a month is done, Archive and reset. Your bubbles start the new month at zero, and the old month is kept as a report you can open any time. Monthly amounts (rent, subscriptions) can be added for you on the day they are due.

Questions people ask

Does Bubblance connect to my bank?

No, and it never will by design. You add what you spend yourself, in a few taps. That keeps your bank details with your bank and keeps Bubblance simple.

Is it free?

Yes. Bubblance is free to use in your browser. There are no ads at the moment. If that ever changes, you will be able to turn them off in Settings.

Is my data safe?

Your account and bubbles are stored on servers in the EU (Frankfurt), protected by rules that let only you, and the people you share a bubble with, read them. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, so nobody, including us, can read them. See the privacy page for the full picture.

Can I budget with my partner?

Yes. Open a bubble, tap Share and send the code. Whoever enters it sees the same bubble, and every payment shows who added it. Everything else on your board stays yours.

What happens at the end of the month?

Archive and reset. Your bubbles go back to zero for the new month, and the month you just finished is kept as history you can look at any time, and export to Excel.

I made a mistake. Can I undo it?

Yes. After you pay, spend, move or delete something, tap Undo on the message that appears. Older entries can be put back from a bubble's history.

Can I bring in my old spending?

Yes. Import a CSV file from a spreadsheet or your bank export. Bubbles you do not have yet are made for you, with an icon.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Bubblance runs in any modern browser on phones and computers. On a phone, add it to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, in Settings, under Delete account. It removes your account, your bubbles and your sign-in for good. You can export everything to Excel first.

Ready? Open Bubblance and make your first bubble. It takes about thirty seconds and you do not need a card.
